What I learned
Bobby Hiller
Period 1

I have learned a lot 3rd quarter. The biggest yet simplest lesson I learned is not to procrastinate. Other things I learned are how to give a good presentation, how to write and prepare for a long essay, and how to choose a good book.

We were given a lot of time to do out essays so I didn’t feel rushed at first and I didn’t get very much done. When the due date was only a week away I realized the trouble that I was in and had to spend several nights staying up late working on my essay and powerpoint for my presentation. I’ve always known but I now have a better realization of how important it is to get things done early.

I have given long presentations before but I feel like it was important for me to do this one so I could brush up on my skills. I’ve written essays before most I have done where in this class and I don’t think I’ve ever written an essay as long as the one for my social issue this quarter. Im not going to lie. I didn’t enjoy writing the essay. But I do think I was good for me. But I think I would of learned just as much about my social issue if the essay was shorter.

In conclusion I learned a lot about writing an essay and giving an oral presentation during third quarter. I enjoyed that this quarter was unlike any other English quarter I have ever had. I think what you did with just having the one large assignment was good for preparing kids to go to college.
