My personal writing process is a fairly short process that is easy to follow. First I brain storm and get it all out, then I create my first draft. After, I edit and revise to create my second draft. Then I may or may not repeat the previous steps to create my final.

Brainstorming, my brainstorming process is fairly simple. I start by just thinking about what I plan to write about and then I often make a list just compiled with things that come to mind about the topic, once done with that I look over my list and I journal about the things I wrote down. when I journal for my prewriting its often a bunch of short sentences that just get the simple facts down so that I can go back later and improve. Without journaling or listing it would make getting started a lot harder.

Once I have a general idea down of what I’m going to write I begin my first draft. My first draft is often full of mistakes and sometimes when I go back and read it, I’m not sure what I was trying to get across. That's why there is always a second and sometimes third draft. Once my first draft is all written down I usually take a day or two brake away from it so that when I go back and read it over, I won’t skip mistakes.

When fixing my drafts whether it is the first or the third I usually end up adding about 25% more information. After leaving my writing alone for a couple days I always have new thoughts and information that I want to add. While going through drafts I try to fix grammar and spelling errors as I go and if I see a place ill often make a note there so I know to go back later and add it in.

In conclusion my writing process is simple and to the point. I brainstorm and get my ideas out, and then I go through and fix errors and add information. I continually fix errors and add information until I’m happy with my writing. I always have a first draft but sometimes I’ll have three or four drafts before my final. Having a good writing process plan is important if you want to be a successful or clear writer.
