A big part of my childhood was playing games with my family. There was one game I loved in particular that I’m addicted to still, Poker. Poker is extremely addicting and extremely fun. It’s a great way to bring the family together to do something, plus I don’t know how I would pass the time at home if I didn’t play.
When I was younger I would occasionally play poker during game night with my family. I always loved it but didn’t play much. It wasn’t until a few months ago that I started playing a lot. The only downside to poker is that sometimes you lose. There is nothing worse than going all in with a good hand and calling a large raise and losing. However, being on the other side and taking the risk of calling someone and winning the pot feels amazing. Whenever I win a big pot or am about to go all in my heart starts racing and I get a wonderful sensation.
Before I began winning tournaments and getting money I had to break my long lasting losing streak. I remember joining my first live table where you play with live money instead of buying in and getting chips. I was deathly afraid of losing my one dollar I went in with, however I went in on a decent hand and actually made three cents on my first had. I immediately lost two cents when I posted the big blind on the next hand but was still able to get out one cent ahead. Ever sense I broke my losing streak I have been placing and doing well in poker.
In conclusion: poker is a great game. It can bring ones family together. You shouldn’t play poker though if you don’t understand the risk involved and can’t afford to lose a little cash. Poker has brought me closer to several family members and ever friends. It’s a great game that has changed my life.
